Recently, I was given an eletronic book about "Oracle 11g Streams Implementer's Guide" from Packt.

See this book here.

Through this book page the reader could also go through the sample chapter titled N-Way Replication. This would provide as the best first hand information for him/her which he/she could also download in the PDF format.

The following sample chapter includes these points.

  • Planning for N-Way replication
  • Technique to avoid conflict
  • The setup
    • Configure replication from STRM1 to STRM2
    • Configure replication from STRM2 to STRM1
  • Configure conflict resolution
  • Expanding the example
  • Rinse and repeat

It was several times that I missed her visit to Paris, but I finally managed to see her !
For those who love jazz in general, and especially Hammond organ.

I am still looking for a job. If you have any special needs (complex Forms modules, special Java Beans, etc.), I can make this work. In this case, do not hesitate to let me know.

My small company did not survive the financial crisis. So now, I am looking for a new job.

If you are looking for an Oracle ACE, Oracle Certified Professional, skilled in development tools like Designer, Forms, Reports, PS/SQL and with a good knowledge of Java, Javascript, HTML and CSS, send me an email at f.degrelle@free.fr, and I will send you back a CV in French or English.

I am looking for a job in Paris and surroundings, but also in Parma or Milano (Italy), or in any other companies doing teleworking.

I'm close to go to Australia to spend three weeks in July in the Queensland with the familly.
One week around Cairns in a camper van, another week near Townsville (especially Magnetic Island), and the last days in Brisbane.
So if I do not answer your questions in July, don't worry about it  ;o)

My partner has been recently hired in Parma (Italy). So that I spent the last week-end with her, in her new apartment downtown.

It is not the first time I spend time in Italy, and I continue to be attracted by this nice country.

In Parma, People are kind, thoughtful and pleasant in contrast with the stressed Parisian region people.

I don’t remember who wrote that, but he/she said that the French are like the Italian, but of bad mood!

And in my opinion, it is often the case…

Parma is a very beautiful city where life is sweet and where the people are always your friend.

Streets and facades are really cute, and restaurants of first choice.

I decided that I will join her there at least one wend-end a month. All I have to do is to get on the train in Paris, sleep a few hours, cross the Swiss through the night, then arrive in Parma early in the morning to have a nice full week-end.

Hello there,

I would be pleased to present the brilliant work of a nice French person, who has developped a library, capable of encapsulating the so complex OCI interface.
It is a powerful workaround for those C programmers that are not totally satisfied with the Pro*C stuff, and want to handle the powerful OCI without the headache that comes with.

Here is the summary of what his tool can do that I quote as he wrote himself:

Introduction

OCILIB is a free, open source and platform independant library, written in C, that access Oracle Databases.

The OCILIB library :

  • Encapsulates OCI (Oracle Call Interface which is powerful but complex)
  • Hides OCI complexity
  • Proposes instead a simple, readable and reusable API
  • Offers up to 310 simple and straightforward APIs.

Introduction

Current version : 2.3.0 (2008-03-30)

Main features

  • Data binding
  • Integrated smart define and fetch mecanisms
  • Full Unicode support on all platorms
  • Multi row fetching
  • Binding array Interface for fast and massive bulk operations
  • Reusable Statements
  • Connection Pooling
  • Global Transactions
  • Returning DML feature support
  • ROWIDs support
  • Named Types (Object types) support (User or Builtin)
  • Cursors
  • PL/SQL blocks
  • PL/SQL Ref cursors and Nested tables
  • LOB (BLOBs/ FILEs)
  • Supports lobs > 4Go
  • Long datatype (piecewise operations)
  • Provides "All in one" Formatted functions (printf's like)
  • Smallest possible memory usage
  • Date/time management
  • Timestamps and Intervals support
  • Error handling
  • Describe database schema objects
  • Access columns by index or name
  • Hash tables API
  • Portable Threads and mutexes API
  • Supports static / shared oracle linkage
  • Support runtime loading (no OCI libs required at compile / time)
  • Great performances (straight OCI encapsulation)
